I’ve been following the live coverage on Gdgt, and the Apple iPad is officially official! Here’s the quick scoop: the iPad runs a modified version of the iPhone OS. It has an awesome new version of iWork that runs perfectly on it. It runs Apple’s iBook app, which lets you read ebooks. It runs all the apps in the App Store. It uses AT&T 3G, which is $30 per month. No contract. It is $500 for 16 GB and ships in March.
